Adopt a pet !

We are excited that you are considering adopting a pet from our shelter! To begin, please fill out our online application. Adoption counselors will review your application and contact you if we have a good match ready to go, or a pet that will be available soon. We also encourage you to keep checking our web site as new animals become available.

A quick overview of the process:

  1. Complete the on-line application and tell us what kind of pet you are interested in, of if there is one in particular you have seen on our web site.

  2. Talk to an adoption counselor about what you are looking for in your new pet as well as review the details of your application related to your home environment.

  3. Plan a visit - you are welcome to stop in during walk-in hours, or make an appointment at another time that works better if preferable. We have more flexibility with days and times for appointments, including Saturdays

We work hard to make this process as easy as possible and in many cases are able to complete same-day adoptions. Please note that when adopting a new dog we often will request an on-site meet-and-greet with any dogs currently in your household.

Kitten adoptions: Kittens are always in high demand so we encourage you to submit an application as soon as you are ready to adopt.  We will contact you when a kitten that matches what you've described in your application becomes available. FYI: Kittens seen online or at public events may already be matched with a family but you can still inquire if they're available for adoption. Please be patient with us as we try to accommodate all of our potential kitten adopters!

Barn Cats: Our Barn Cat Placement Program is for cats that are not adoptable into a home, but would happily live in a barn or other secure outdoor structure. A barn cat will be: spayed or neutered; vaccinated against distemper and rabies; treated for fleas and ear mites; tested for feline leukemia and FIV. We will also provide you with guidance on how to correctly confine and release your new cat into its new home.
